Riot Riot.... Riot City Radio

righttochoosewebzi

Arrivano dalla vecchia Inghilterra, e ci propongono un sound tutto loro ma che personalmente a noi è sempre piaciuto... chi sono ? i RIOT CITY RADIO....

RTC) How and when was the band born and the members, tell us the hystory of band

RCR) We started back in 2019 as a three piece, Tom Murphy on Guitar, Matt Colton on Bass, Tom Boutwood on drums. After the madness of Covid put a hold on things, we switched to a four piece, with Tony Hopkins joining on drums and Sam Sharp on guitar. All four of us share vocal duties.

RTC) How can we call your style of playing? which are your musical influences?

RCR) We’re a street punk band but we also take alot from oi and ska music. We’re pretty eclectic in our individual tastes but we draw on all of it when we write, which is how we get our sound.

RTC) What are your lyrics about? what do you stand for?

RCR) Our songs are about unity and standing up for what you believe in. We’re working class, we have a clear idea of right and wrong and we call out injustice when we see it.

RTC) What's your favourite beer or alcoholic drink?

RCR) Can’t beat a cold Guinness or a nice ale like a Doombar.

RTC) Speak about the Oi! and Punk scene in your Area and Country

RCR) We’re pretty fortunate to be part of such a great punk scene in the UK. We have so many amazing independent venues and great promoters putting on shows. It isn’t easy for them, dealing with greedy ticketing companies and overhead costs constantly rising, but their resilience and hard work is a massive part of why there are so many good British bands around.

RTC) Can you mention the most important gigs you did?

RCR) Playing The 100 Club in London supporting Gimp Fist last year was a great moment for us, such a legendary venue. The Hairy Dog in Derby holds a special place for us too, that was our first gig and Breakout Promotions have put us on there a few times. Outside of the UK, we’ve had amazing gigs in Oslo, Hamburg and Essen. We’re looking forward to being back in Germany later this year!

RTC) Do you suggest us other bands in your country ?

RCR) There are so many great punk bands coming out of the UK right now, it’s hard to keep track. Off the top of our heads, Gimp Fist, The Meffs, Fatal Blow, Knock Off, Booze & Glory, Grade 2, On The Huh, The Chisel, Buster Shuffle. And that barely scratches the surface.

RTC) How much works (CD,LP Etc.) have you released ?

RCR) We released our debut EP Anchor in the Storm in 2020 and followed up with our first full length Time Will Tell in 2022. Both are available on vinyl and digital, and Time Will Tell is available on CD. Massive thanks to Sunny Bastards Records for putting them out. We’re currently working on new material which we hope to release later in the year.

RTC) Do you go to Stadium ? is yes, which team you support ?

RCR) Plymouth Argyle, COYG!

RTC) Would you like to play in Italy ? Do you know some Italian Bands ?

RCR) We’d love to! A couple of us used to play in Hard Wax and we supported Giuda who were the nicest people and incredibly good live.

RTC) So, the interview is Over, say something to ?

RCR) Thanks for taking the time to read this, check out our music and hope to see you at a gig some time. Most importantly, support live music however / wherever you can! (RTC..Thnak you Mate, i wish me too i hope to see you and Riot City Radio to gig)

E con la speranza che questa settimana lavorativa possa finire presto, vi sproniamo a andare a visitare tutti i social dei Riot City Radio e come da consuetudine vi lasciamo un video tratto dal canale rosso.

Cheers & Beers
