United with stand.... The Red Bricks

Torniamo in una delle capitali dell'Oi! eurepee dove abbiamo incontrato Chris, Boris e i Red Bricks per farci raccontare qualcosa di loro e potervelo riportare... e quindi... Let's Go..

RTC) How and when was the band born and the members, tell us the hystory of band?

RBS) Hi Max, first of all i wanna thank you for the interview and the nice conversation before… (RTC.. Thank you too Chris)

Red Bricks founded during the lockdown in 2021 in Hamburg.. since then we‘ve played a lot of shows in different countries like Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Poland, England and of course in Germany.. this october we‘re going to play Crash Fest in San Francisco and 2-3 more shows in California around Crash Fest.. 

To Name and tell the histoy of the Band members: Boris on Guitar was the bassist in the german oi! band Volxsturm for 22 years, Chris on drums played in Smegma, Harbour Rebels, Heiamann and The Bois, Lars on Vocals is still in a second band called Free Target, Benny on guitar helped out in some HC bands on bass,Basti on bass was with me in The Bois and he was in SharpXCut, Robert on merch was the merch guy for Volxsturm…

RTC) How can we call your style of playing? which are your musical influences?

RBS) good question.. of course we have our influences as we‘re all coming from Punkrock and Hardcore.. i‘ll describe it as „Working Class Oi!“.. 

We‘re  influenced by many great bands, but each of us brings their own style. That’s how the Red Bricks sound was shaped up! 

RTC) What are your lyrics about? what do you stand for?

RBS) Mostly we‘re talking about anti-fascism, oppression, social duties and of course BEER..;-)

RTC) What's your favourite beer or alcoholic drink? 

RBS) Easy question, Beer..;-)

RTC) Speak about the Oi! and Punk scene in your Area and Country.. 

RBS) The Oi! and Punk scene in germany is defenetely alive.. even when it‘s getting older.. in some cities you can see young bloods joining the scene which is good to see though.. 

in times were subculture isn‘t fancy anymore, we all should treat new people good to establish them in the scene.. 

RTC) Can you mention the most important gigs you did?

RBS) First of all, we wanna thank our long time friend Sam who runs the Monkeys and the Indra in Hamburg who always believed in us and gave us the first gig at hamburgs Oi! festival „Moi!n it‘s Hamburg“ directly after hearing about us..

of course the Rebellion Festival was super important for us in 2023.. sadly we didn‘t got invited again so far.. 

Oslo, where we were invited to the Chrismas Party of the Oslo Trojan Skins.. 

So36 in Berlin is always good to play and it gives you a lot when you look up and see packed house.. thank you Sandro for keep putting us on.. 

RTC) Do you suggest us other bands in your country ?

RBS) Check out Angry Voices, Stumbling Bois, Curb Stomp and Loit.. 

RTC) How much works (CD,LP Etc.) have you released ?

RBS) we‘ve releases our debut album „BUILT OVER TIME“ in april 2022 via Contra Records, Breakout Promotions and Positive Youth Records. 

in March 2024 we‘ve released a 4band split with 3 songs each together with Reckless Upstarts(Can), An Slua(Irl) and The Uncouth(USA) via Smith&Miller Records and Insurgence Records. 

our new longplayer is due for this year, will be recorded in february and released by Contra Records.. so stay tuned on that one!!

RTC )What‘s your political stand? 

RBS) We‘re all Anti-Fascists, therefore we hate nazis and oppressors !! 

RTC) Would you like to play in Italy ? Do you know some Italian Bands ? 

RBS) Of course we want to.. we‘re in contact with the Old Crew Roma via our friend Luca who lives in Gothenburg and plays in the Swedish Reggae band Soul Droppers(!!go check them out!!) for a littke Italy run in 2026.. 

everyone knows Nabat, Giuda, Bull Brigade, Azione Diretta and Sempre Peggio.. ;-)

RTC) So, the interview is Over, say something to ?
