RTC) How and when was the band born and the members
SIKK) We had an idea about a rockin' Oi! band almost a year before we started SIKK, almost four years ago. But the definitive line up, music style and name of the band crystalised in 2021. Most of us played in bands and projects with each other so it's was kinda natural to start something as a joint venture.
RTC) How can we call your style of playing? which are your musical influences?
SIKK) Straight up R'N'R! We tend to think that we're not inventing the wheel with what we're doing here but keeping the edge of the good ol' rock and roll sharp! Some folks hear Oi! some punk, some rockabilly in our music. And all of them are right! We love classics a lot, so Slade, Bon Scott's 'AC/DC, Chuck Berry, The Professionals, Business, Nick Lowe, Hanoi Rocks and SUN Records heroes are few of the names that came to mind influences wise.
RTC) What are your lyrics about? what do you stand for?
SIKK) We like to use rockin' gibberish most of the time. It sits nice with the music, apart from that we sing about having fun and getting wasted, and a tiny bit about social themes. We don't have a same perspective about everything considering religion and politics so it would be an awkward situation to have a sort of declaration what we are about in that sense. We're a bunch of functioning alcoholics so that's kind of a cool banner we can all stand proud under!
RTC) What's your favourite beer or alcoholic drink?
SIKK) Beer and rakija !!! But we won't skip whiskey , grappa, ouzo and sake.
RTC) Speak about the Oi! and Punk scene in your Area and Country
SIKK) Scene in Serbia is fragmented and separated like in other parts of the world. Not much going on, yet people are doing their part. Plenty of bands sing in native tongue not much singing in English though. Bends we like are Pogonbgd, Kamene kare, D.O.D, Jorgovani, S.U.S, Šaht, Gavrilo Princip, Napalm job, Nothing sacred, Cepeni ćunci to name a few.
RTC) Can you mention the most important gigs you did?
SIKK) Dunno if it's super important but Fatela Sonica '24. was awesome!!! Had a great time in Portugal and met so many cool people that liked SIKK. Sharing a stage with Sympos and Horda was a blast!!!
RTC) Speaking about a new generation of Oi! and Streetpunk Music, which is your favorite band today ??
SIKK) Terms is doing a decent job of teaching the new comers that punk is just a sub genre of R'N'R, same goes for RMBLR and The Drowns. Brut outta Australia are nice . Italy has some cool bands too like Dalton and Mad Rollers.
Patrol and Brux, Castillo...too many to mention.
RTC) How much works (CD,LP Etc.) have you released ?
SIKK) Two songs 7" vinyl on Try And Stop Me Records and Longshot Music that's almost sold out, less than 20 copies out there. Six songs 12" mini LP is in the works, gonna be out early 2025. Hopefully flexi EP will follow round Easter time. Fingers crossed.
RTC) Do you go to Stadium ? is yes, which team you support ?
SIKK) Most of the lads from the band gave up going to the games and supporting their teams in a ULTRA way. I'm (singer - COBE) still semi active in doing stuff for South Stand of Partizan supporters, Gravediggers. Situation in the band is very colourful - two members support Partizan FC, two support Smederevo and one supports FC Rad.
RTC) Would you like to play in Italy?
